If you choose not to purchase OpenSnow after the free trial is over, you will be automatically downgraded to a free account and not charged. You will still be able to compare snow reports and view weather forecasts.

Ratings and reviews

Too expensive. Replies to other posters say $30 is a small fee but it's not. Other apps charge $1-10 per year or lifetime even. You'd probably make more money charging less because you'd get much higher uptake if it were affordable (e.g 10/100 users * $30 = $300. 50/100 * $10 = $500). Oh well it was a good app while it lasted. I'd also be happy to pay $2/month or so since I don't need the snow forecast in July. Probably change your name though. Free and open software is free.

I used to enjoy this app. Noone I know is continuing with it. Very disappointed in the new model. When first announced, I considered paying, as I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for useful apps. But $30 for an annual subscription. I was shocked. Maybe for lifetime. Even more discouraging is to see all the copy/paste responses that insist this is a small fee for a phone app! They clearly don't live in the same economic reality as us. Thanks to those who recommended OnTheSnow. Switched.

Useful, but not on a subscription basis. It'd be one of the most expensive app subscriptions ever while only providing slightly more snow data than any number of other weather apps, most of which have lifetime license on a single purchase. It also is very inconsistent on the information it displays based on some algorithm decisions on what mapping data to feature. Bummer that app greed is more important than producing a quality service in the modern era, too many apps with their hand out begging
