Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, Garmin Dive is the ultimate diving companion. Once you pair your phone with a Descent™ dive computer or another compatible Garmin device¹, you can enjoy powerful features like:

Notes: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Garmin Dive needs SMS permission to allow you to receive and send SMS text messages from your Garmin devices. We also need call log permission to display incoming calls on your devices.

Ratings and reviews

It works well enough for tracking your dives. But it's missing many of the dive sites in Northern California and there's no way to add new ones. And the offline functionality is still very limited so you can't do much without a cellular data connection (not always availity out on a dive boat).

The app is just a fancy logbook. But it decides to take over the sync with Descent MK1 that I also use to track other activities. IMHO, some real engineer (instead of bunch of wannabe product managers school kids) have to take a look at all the useless apps Garmin creates and at least make them happily live together on the same device. For example if I have Garmin Connect, Garmin Dive should sync data from it and not to take over the device. Again, on is own, it's just a fancy logbook - useless.

Doesn't import any of my Suunto computer dives, Garmin needs to implement an import feature. Even if manually importing from .fit files into Connect, they don't show up in the Dive app which means it's deliberate on Garmin's part. Forces users to use a Garmin watch / dive computer, but for those of us who converted over, really makes the app worthless for keeping track of old dives to have a complete archive. Garmin really needs to improve this app, it's unfortunate.
