Private & transparent by design
Kids see what’s active in the app. Parents see what’s needed to guide healthy habits.

Ohana uses standard Android permissions to deliver parental controls:
- Device Administrator to prevent uninstall without parent consent
- Accessibility (AccessibilityService API) to enforce app limits/blocks (data stays on the kid’s device)
- Location to show your kid’s device location and arrival alerts
- VpnService to filter age-inappropriate web content

Do not recommend. I paid $50 for this and it is completely inaccurate. I set a timer for my son's YouTube account and it never actually stops him accessing YouTube --he's been spending around 1.5 hours on YouTube per day. I found out from his poo home because Ohana only keeps track in hours per week, not per day, which is silly. It also CONSTANTLY logs me out. I have to re-log into the app every time I open it and even then I have to input my log in info twice before it lets me into the app.
