Recognize nature in one click! Take a photo in Europe or the Dutch Caribbean and find out which species it is. Collect all your wildlife observations in the app. You'll be rewarded with tips to find new species, earn badges, and be invited to join challenges. Create groups with colleagues, family or friends, to share your stunning nature observations. Your observations, and those of others, contribute to biological research and knowledge about nature. Every observation counts!

ObsIdentify only recognizes wild animals, plants and mushrooms in Europe and the Dutch Caribbean. Please do not use the app for selfies, people, pets, house or garden plants.

The image recognition in ObsIdentify is made possible by millions of observations from thousands of users of Waarneming.nl, Waarnemingen.be and Observation.org. ObsIdentify is a product of the Observation International Foundation, in collaboration with Naturalis Biodiversity Center (The Netherlands) and Natuurpunt (Belgium).

the app is brilliant apart from one big flaw. you can't view separate species through the dashboard section, the only option is to scroll through hundreds of observations to find a species you've already seen. you should be able to click on each badge and see the species you've already identified. when this happens it will definitely be a 5 start app!!

I love obsidentify and often recommend it to people interested in nature. I wish that I could search my observations for keywords (eg "Elephant Hawk Moth", and it shows me all the times I've documented one), or even filter for all birds, for example. Perhaps we could filter by location seen, too. This app really makes nature accessible for people, I love the links to Wikipedia & the main website for more info. Even children can use this with support - easy to identify & log species, v. fun!

I really love using the app to see what's around me, however, I can't see any of my previous observations in the app anymore since the last few weeks. I would also like if the badges included more different types of plants instead of just the "plants" badge. I can see my old observations again, no clue why I couldn't before, for some reason it only showed the observations I'd done in that session.
