The myQ smart access app allows you to seamlessly open, close and monitor your garage door, commercial door, or gate from ANYWHERE. The app supports myQ-enabled products from leading garage door manufacturers including Chamberlain and LiftMaster. myQ helps you keep your home or business safe and secure.

Of course when you actually 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 it, it doesn't work at all. The past several weeks when trying to access the app at all, all I get is a "There was an error connecting to the server. Please check your connection and try again." error. I had to turn around and use the physical button to close my garage after accidentally pushing on my way out.

This app lost value over time. It is now a marketing channel rather than a lean control tool. It is cluttered and slowed by ads. Their notifications used to tell me when my garage door opened and closed, but they recently started using notifications to push more ads. There is no way to opt out of the unwanted ads without losing the functional notifications, too.

Never fully reliable, but worse lately. I tried twice recently to open it, but ended up using keypad/hardwired button. Alarmingly, door seemed to open much later (like 15-25 minutes) well after I closed it and apparently was open all last night. My valuables are locked and so is the house door, but still too many goodies available for an opportunist. If it hadn't happened twice I would have thought I was imagining it. I had adapted to sometimes using the keypad to open, but this is scary.
