The NYC School Bus app, powered by Via, gives caregivers greater visibility into their student's daily school commute. Through real-time GPS tracking information, caregivers will have peace of mind knowing the location of their student’s school bus and receive notifications when their student safely boards or exits the bus.

The app is great when the bus drivers remember to turn on their side of it. It would be better if their end was made to automatically turn on when the bus starts it's route instead of the driver logging in. One of my kids bus drivers is an older gentleman and he hasn't had luck logging into the app which is not helpful to the parents at all. Some improvements are needed.

So far this app has worked fine for me. The only issue is if the bus driver does not turn it on. The DOE should not give this function to the bus drivers as it's obvious that some of them either don't know how to use it or just don't bother to turn it on. This function should be connected to the buses so the app turns on as soon as the bus is turned on.

This app is completely useless. Despite my daughter's bus driver activating the bus tracking daily, the app fails to show any information about my children bus route. I've had an NYCSA account for over 8 years, yet this app still doesn't work. Thankfully, I have AngelSense, which has been a lifesaver amidst the hype around this app. Instead of providing useful information, it just logs me into a blank screen. The worst part is the lack of a customer service number to help troubleshoot the app.
