Simplisafe seems really great at the onset. But after using the system consistently for many months it's cracks begin to show. The cameras constantly drop connection, they almost never work in live view. The worst part is that on top of it all you do not get logged recordings. Only motion events are saved and the sensitivity to motion is completely uncalibrated. The tinea I have actually needed it, it failed me. Look for a different system with better features for the price.

BLUF: devices don't reliably install. The app works for most devices. I spent a month trying to get two SimpliCams trying to connect. No luck, despite hours on the phone with the support folks. I tried for more than a month, so the cameras aren't returnable. I should say, I bought a SimpliSafe system when approximately 20 devices in 2020. They kept needing to be re-added so I returned it within a month.

I like the system. It is easy to setup the sensors and add new if needed. Only problem was linking base station to wifi network. You don't use the app on my phone. You have to use the keypad which is hard to type in the wifi password, entering the word is tedious, but just took time to type in the password.
