I've had a very good experience with this app. I linked my bank, was offered a nice chunk of money as an advance and I could choose the $ amount I wanted to accept, and then repaid it on my next payday. Quick and easy. My credit went up 29 points right away. I'm a little skeptical about the outside programs they refer you to, so just read everything carefully. But I can't complain so far ! Thanks, Empower! 😁

I've used the apps successfully a dozen times but eventually it claims "we've found an existing account" which is not mine and says "please use the account below". Tech support says it's a known error and cannot be fixed. Yet they charge a monthly subscription fee, even though it can't be used. This is very unsatisfying. They need to refund all subscription fees if their product doesn't work anymore.

Doesn't tell you upfront of an $8/month subscription fee they automatically deduct. Intrusion on your banking transactions. I don't appreciate seeing all of my checking account transaction history and balances listed on the app. I've had Empower for a month and I see every transaction from January including transfers from other accounts. No way to turn this off and there's no Delete User Account option in the app. Empower stores and highjacks your bank account and uses it as they wish.
