The app is pretty useful for checking rules, building lists, and has a special menu that condenses all the rules for your list to use as a reference during play. However, the app slowly becomes less and less functional over time as each new codex paywalls all the information for that army. You can't buy content piecemeal without paying for the physical codex and the monthly sub is very overpriced. Great for rules and building a single army. Bad as a general reference tool.

The app itself is actually pretty fantastic, as long as your faction still only has an index. It's reasonably organized, very responsive, and includes all rules, stratagems, etc. in addition to the datasheets. HOWEVER, as soon as your codex releases, ALL of your faction's info gets locked behind a paywall. The hobby is already expensive enough, at least make the rules more accessible.

While it's definitely an improvement over the 9th edition version, that's the only thing keeping this from being a 1 star review; you need to pay a subscription just to save more than one army list, and then you also need to pay in order to view the details of your roster? That's total bs, given that GW originally stated that all the datacards were supposed to be "free for download" in this edition. Stick to battlescribe, it's definitely much better, even if it doesn't get updated in real time.
