Ratings and reviews

Be careful with hidden charges, especially when choosing pay later. When you choose to pay later, Agoda often applies its own currency conversion rate at the time of payment. This rate is usually much higher than the standard exchange rate, meaning the final amount charged to your card can be significantly more than the price originally quoted at booking. Juding by other reviews, these sharp practices are not uncommon on Agoda. Thankfully, I realised and cancelled the booking.

My wife and I booked through Agoda, however they booked us at the wrong hotel. We contacted the customer service immediately after the booking. They said that it was non-refundable even though it was their mistake. We were charged the full amount even though we didn't stay or even book that hotel. Basically, we were scammed out of the cost of 3 nights at a hotel we did not book. Would def avoid using Agoda as their customer service is horrible and you might get scammed.

Avoid Agoda ,Scam Charges! I booked Heritage Inn La Mesa through Agoda. I couldn’t make the trip and tried to call Agoda the same day, but no one picked up. The hotel only charged 1 night as a no-show fee (I have the receipt), but Agoda charged me 2 nights. That’s money Agoda kept for themselves. This feels like a scam. Their customer service is impossible to reach, and they overcharge beyond the hotel’s policy. I’ll never book with Agoda again.
