Ratings and reviews

It's a deadbolt you can control with your phone. I would have liked to use August as my own "security", but there is too much delay in their notifications. I have an "alert" set up to notify me anytime my door is unlocked manually or if the door is left open for a specified amount of time. The app settings are set to always on and no battery saving functions are enabled. By the time I get the notification, it would be too late if something bad were to take place. It works. Not great.

Edit: lasted for 7 years but it's no longer working after the current update. Support seems more inclined to just have me get a new one rather than help troubleshoot what I have. Looking at the higher percentage of bad reviews for all but the latest gen, I'm concerned that support for the older models is just an afterthought. Dead simple. It's one of the few smart devices that actually focuses on doing its job instead of overcomplicating it with unnecessary features.

Lately I can't lock my door anymore. This app and the connectivity with the lock is non-existent. Spotty at best. The automatic open never really worked, I had to turn off that feature. Be prepared to stand around a minute waiting for a connection, even if you have the August Wifi Connect thing.
