About this app

Need to learn a variety of healthy-lifestyle skills?

The AARPā„¢ Staying SharpĀ® app is based on a holistic, lifestyle-based approach to brain health and features expert advice on memory, focus and more.

Are you sometimes irritated by little memory slips like forgetting where you placed your keys or phone? In our ā€œMemory Loss ā€“ Is it Inevitable?ā€ challenge, you can learn how memory works.

In addition, our Digital Declutter challenge teaches you ways to manage your digital world. Discover strategies for shifting technology away from being a distracting force in your life and into something that helps you live life more fully.

And if youā€™re tired of forgetting details about new people you meet, our Faces & Names challenge can help you learn the secrets of those impressive people who never forget a name.

Staying Sharp challenges align with guidance from AARPā€™s Global Council on Brain Health, an independent collaborative of scientists, doctors, scholars and policy experts. Each challenge starts with a video outlining what research and experts say about strengthening memory and building healthy habits. You then follow a series of steps to learn brain-healthy habits and discover easy activities that you can incorporate into your life.

Hereā€™s what the app lets you do:

Take challenges that are designed to help you learn about the brain and its ongoing health, including tips to incorporate healthy habits into your daily life.

Take Staying Sharp challenges on the go.

Your progress will be saved, no matter where you start or stop your challenge. And that works on a smartphone, computer or tablet.

Who can use the app?

Anyone can download and preview the Staying SharpĀ® app. AARP members and other authorized users have access to it.

Plus, thereā€™s more. Access includes the following:

* Take the challenges to earn AARP Rewards points*. This loyalty program lets you gain points for participating in activities, including eligible Staying Sharp challenges.

* Easily bookmark content using the My Favorites feature.

* Take advantage of easy access to the AARP Now app. This app lets users tap into news, events and savings, plus earn AARP Rewards points.

*Unused AARP Rewards points expire 12 months after they are earned, in monthly batches on a rolling basis.

Greetings! This is a great app & very useful as well as interesting. I noticed Jeannie's post from 3/13 having trouble starting the quizzes. I also had a problem, but I changed my font settings on my phone settings back to normal rather than large & and the app works great after minor adjustment. šŸ‘ Try it! You'll like it!

Best app for keeping your mind engaged, according to cognitive and occupational therapists. It's got an almost unlimited number of games and exercises in every category, all of which are fun and engaging. Easy to use and attractive presentation. Smooth functioning and responsive, no problems.

I see reviews where people have problems with AARP. And I did have some concerns about it immediately telling me that my membership is expired when checking my profile within app. But my basic membership to use Staying Sharp is free. So when I ignored all that and went to the games, the app was really so much fun. I totally love it for what it is designed for. The games are addicting. I don't even want to stop to watch my favorite shows and streaming. Also, I have not noticed any ads at all. šŸ˜Š
