Like this app! The "No Braking" stat is broken by adaptive cruise control, which brakes hard when a car ahead of you cuts into your lane too close or slows and turns off to a side street. I don't think the app can account for that by any means.

Hi Charles! One of the things about SafeTrip is that it can measure a hard-braking event, but it can't see that it may have been another driver that caused you (or your car) to brake heavily -- and you were showing good defensive driving traits. Occasional events like this won't have a big impact on your overall driving score, however.

Sort of OK, but it is unacceptable as to how many drives are missed. I can make three drives, and find that only one is actually recorded. This is really not very acceptable, and the scoring algorithms - especially cornering - seem to be more appropriate for 1955 than 2025.

Hi Jeffrey. Sorry to hear that SafeTrip isn't tracking all your trips. That can be the result of a weak signal during points on your route. (Nothing you can do about that, unfortunately.) If we can't track the entire drive, we feel as though it's not best to score it, since we may have missed some important activity on the drive.

First day using it. Almost all instances of "speeding" were on sections of road that were not the speed they thought it was and haven't been that speed ever or for ages (it thinks a stretch of road that has been 50 mph for as long as I can remember is 30 mph, similarlyit thinks a part of the a town is 25 mph when its 30 mph and always has been). Trying to decide if it's worth keeping to see if it improves.

Hi Ashley,
We'll be happy to adjust the speed limit on any roads where the database doesn't have it right. You can send us the info right through the app or drop a note to safetrip@aarp.org.
