Accessibility Service

In order to effectively block you from using the addictive and distracting apps the "Digital Detox" app may ask you to enable its Accessibility Service if you decide to use the cheating protection features. We use this service only to block you from leaving an ongoing Detox without paying an accountability fee or using a quit code (the cheating). We do not use the service to collect any personal information.

Device Admin

If granted by the user, "Digital Detox" app may use the Device Administrator permission to (and only to) prevent users from cheating - make uninstalling of the app during an active Detox harder.

Ratings and reviews

This app is really helpful, especially for my sleep. I was having trouble leaving my phone alone in bed, and it was affecting my sleep. Now I start a 2 hour challenge, and set my phone aside. Knowing I can't touch my phone without paying, even a small amount, really does help. Before too long, I drift off. I'm really pleased with this app. Edited to add: I've started having a problem where it starts but the timer doesn't count down and after the time I set (usually 4 hours) I have to hit "quit"

This is my favorite tech limiting app and I've tried a lot of them! It's got every feature I need, a super simple interface, and the devs always reply to emails if there's any issues. I don't just use this for a full detox, but it's also my app for scheduling focus times. You can set several different options like "work" and "family time" (you can edit the labels), and then use these for separate automatic schedules that block what you don't need for that time of the day. Perfect app, thank you!

Update: Customer service was correct, restarting the phone fixed the problem. It still sometimes switches back to lock screen while I'm using a whitelisted app but since I want to be on my phone less, if it's a pain in the butt I consider that a bonus. Five stars! Original review: Only issue is every couple months I have to uninstall and reinstall because the whitelist "forgets" the apps I want to keep open and doesn't have the option to add them back. Otherwise a perfect fit for what I wanted!
