About this app

KoboCollect is based on the open source ODK Collect app and is used for primary data collection in humanitarian emergencies and other challenging field environments. With this app you enter data from interviews or other primary data -- online or offline. There are no limits on the number of forms, questions, or submissions (including photos and other media) that can be saved on your device.

This app requires a free KoboToolbox account: Before you can collect data create a free account with your computer on www.kobotoolbox.org and create a blank form for data entry. Once your form is created and active, configure this app to point to your account, following the instructions in our tool.

To visualize, analyze, share, and download your collected data just go back to your KoboToolbox account online. Advanced users can also install their own KoboToolbox instance on a local computer or server.

Everything is just perfect, but with the recent update, one can't edit the saved form after completion. Unless we saved it as drafts

I have been using KoboCollect for an offline data collection from a field. It was amazing until a new updated version automatically changes the old interface. These new changes has resulted the App, unable to rename and save formes as the data collector wanted. Please bring back the old interface or include a renaming and saving by renewing option. Thanks

We've been using the Kobo Collect app for several years and it's worked well for us. My only complaint is that significant changes were made to the user interface and we were not notified. It caused a lot of confusion, since we didn't know we needed to retrain our users In Uganda. I only saw the changes by accident, after the fact.

What's new

- Finalized forms can no longer be edited: Save then as a draft to continue making edits
- Bulk finalization of drafts is now available from the draft list
- Draft submissions are now auto-validated with errors displayed for each one
- Validation errors displayed inline while filling form
- New question type to print to Android-compatible printer
- Typography, icons, and colors refreshed for increased usability
- Allow external camera apps that write GPS locations and datetime on photos
