Introducing Movement Alchemy w/Jim Wittekind

Movement Alchemy is a self paced, guided Movement Practice that aims to fine tune the mind body connection to restore balanced strength, range of motion and control - by learning to stop. And then, start again. By learning to sense what you don't realize you can't sense. By expanding your perception of how you move, breathe, and sense your body.

It has been said that humans tend to have a default pattern of movement stemming from the organization of internal organs and the way the brain processes information. And if we pay attention, we will realize that we do get stuck in unconscious movement patterns. Just like any other habit is formed when you do the thing over and over again.

Aches, pains, stiffness and difficulty healing can occur because we cannot interrupt these patterns. We simply can't stop and truly rest and recover. This is actually related to a disconnect with our bodies. Since we are in a pattern, we are only sensing part of what is actually going on.

Using curiosity, meditative self inquiry, and reflection, Movement Alchemy changes the way we sense ourselves. This fundamentally improves the ability to rest, relax and recover and restore appropriate range of motion, strength, power. It leverages breathing patterns to promote efficient human movement.

Movement Alchemy offers short “Learn” videos to teach the basic movement concepts and “Do” audio files to guide you through foundational activities. Focus is on mediative self inquiry and reflection. This helps you customize your program, for your particular human.
