This has amazing potential to be a great map app, but what turns me off is that I can't choose to navigate to destinations via bus (yet somehow I can travel by bike or even subway). Has an excellent UI, doesn't lag at all, can actually find my approximate location, and the initial setup wasn't annoying like other map apps; still can't find a viable alternative to Google Maps.

The public transport feature has not been implemented yet, but it is planned (although it's a very complex task). Is it the reason you give 3 stars for a completely free app that is run by user donations and developed by volunteers in their free time?

I would really like to simply save a location, and then later have the app point me in the direction of that location, just like a normal Garmin hiking GPS can do. Edit: I didn't know that functionality existed! It didn't occur to me to tap on the little arrow by the location description to get directional navigation directly to that point. I look forward to trying it out on my next trip.

Can you please clarify, what exactly does not work for you? You can select any place on the map with a tap (or long-tap) on it, and then bookmark it by pressing a star icon in the bottom bar. Later, at any time, you can select this bookmark and tap an arrow icon to have a compass-like directions, if there are no roads, or "Route To" if there are.

This is what maps.me was 5-10 years ago. Then it became a bloted and restrictive nightmare, that forced you to create an account to manage bookmarks, and slowed down the app with ads and other useless stuff. Please dont follow in their footsteps! Keep it simple, the way it is! I dont want to book flight or hotels , or make coffe with a map app. Focus and be good at one thing, not mediocre at many things. Super happy that I found your app. Replacing maps.me with Organic Maps on all of my devices!
