Enabled by Bragi with OpenAI, Skull AI is available for Method 540 ANC earbuds, as a 90-day free trial with a paid subscription beyond that. Activate the trial through the Audio App store in the Skullcandy App, then say “OK, Skully” and your earbuds spring into action. Whether you want quick answers, recommendations, or hands-free music control, your AI is always ready.

Ratings and reviews

Skullcandy are wizards with their hardware, but terrible with every software they've ever released. Every time I turn on my headset, I have to open this app, change the EQ profile to anything else, then change it back to custom for it to actually apply, even if it was already selected. They tell you to contact their support, but all they do is tell you to reinstall the app/pair device. Then they say they'll submit the problem, only for it to not get fixed after a year! The PC app is even worse.

App is fine. To get the most out of your headphones set up your personalized sound (and use movie mode). As of 3/24/26 I am experiencing an issue in selecting a listening mode. My headphones connect to the app as usual, but when I go to select an alternate mode nothing happens. No audio cue, no change, nothing at all. It has become very inconsistent and random to the point where I just hope and pray it works when I open the app. I'd like it to work on the first attempt please.

It seems the mobile app is far better than the PC App. Clean UI, Easy to use, and has more options than the PC version, such as being able to change the color of the LEDs on the PLYR 720. Speaking of which, I think it would be pretty cool if there were some dynamic color options for the LEDs, some smooth flowy dynamics colors would really make the PLYR 720s a class above the rest, not that they don't already blow the competition out of the water!
