How can you buy your tickets even faster and get updates on your journey on top of that? You get it with the ÖBB App, round the clock, wherever you are. Take the train and take it easy.

The ÖBB App comes with the following features:

• Tickets for trains, buses, the metro and trams: book your ÖBB tickets & get exclusive online specials such as the Sparschiene Österreich discount fares. You can also book the city tickets and weekly or monthly tickets of Austrian regional transport operators
• Pay your fares on the go with SimplyGo! The handy add-on for the ÖBB App automatically identifies the routes you travelled and calculates the matching public transport fare for your complete journey
• Secure your favourite seat on the Railjet: use the graphic seat reservation
• Find the best fare: see the ÖBB train services sorted by lowest fare first
• ÖBB Account: conveniently and securely store your personal data and means of payment, save your favourite routes, and receive additional exclusive offers (e.g. the Vorteilscard 66 discount card)

So like mostly was great. Easy to purchase and takes a little getting used to. I wished like you would with an airline the app would tell you what gate/platform you need to board at. Biggest gripe is when you book a trip and you have a layover the app only gives you the ticket for the first part. I'm now learning the day of my trip that I still needed to buy the 2nd half of my trip so I just overpaid for something I should've goten when I initially booked. Like airlines do this why cant trains?

Barely works for 2023 standards. It's possible to purchase tickets and that pretty much it. Seat reservations do not work - reservation is not registered on the train and effectively lost. In case of delays there are no real-time updates in the app. In case of missed connection app still displays connection as valid and doesn't offer alternatives. What is the point of having this app?

why does this app require a network connection? it should be able to display my ticket even if I'm offline! ever been asked for your ticket while in a place where there's no reception? not fun. also the anti bot verification every time is pretty annoying. surely there's a less intrusive way to do this.
