Topped up this morning knowing full well that my opal card didn't have enough $$ on it to get home from work today. After the normal 8 hour shift it still hadn't cleared and I had to go to the machine and add more...as soon as I did bam! Both lots transfer at once. So I ask, what is the point of using the app to top up if I still have to wait in a line at the end of the day? Also please change the caption down the bottom that says "it may take up to 60 minutes before this top up is available" 8X60= 480 minutes. Cheers
Dislike the fact you can only top up online with $40, i dont use public transport all the time, my local supermarket coles dont sell or top up opal. Would love to see smaller online amounts available. Love the fact you can watch where you are travelling along map and stop updates. Top up didnt show even when pushed the refresh button. I physically had to rescan card to show topup
The concept of this app is awesome, especially because it always shows you the correct fare, can read your opal card and notified you before you reach your final stop. Unfortunately especially while tracking a trip, it "forgets" the trip but still shows it in the notification bar. Thus you don't get notified about your stops and lose the information about your journey and where to change the transport.
The stop alerts were such a great addition! Pity they don't work very well. If you leave the app, it resets itself. It may say you have a trip in progress but it stops following. You have to keep the app open for it to work which seems counter productive because then you can follow it anyway.
Bus times shown on app differ from bus schedules. No option to change walking distance so it just tells me to walk multiple kilometers instead of when the next bus is. Almost always fails to show the shortest transfer. Sorts journey options by unknown and evidently illogical criteria. Only shows limited journey options and due to idiotic sorting often cuts off what you were looking for. No option to see timetables for specific buses/trains.
My main reason for installing this app was to avoid peak time queues if I forgot to top up. The wait time between topping up and the balance on my card being updated makes the app pretty useless for me. That being said the UI is great; quick and easy to use.
