Mostly good, but sometimes one can accidentally use the time slider and the history function will not remember where you came from. This means you can end up over an hour away from where you were and the only way to get back is skipping in small increments and to find it again. Fixing this would be as simple as automatically adding a history point before using the time slider. That history feature is currently completely useless, I have no idea what even triggers it.
Excellent app, highly recommended I rely on this app on a daily basis to listen to lectures during my commute to/from school. It has an excellent user interface and the developer is highly responsive whenever the rare problem arises.
This is my current favorite in audiobook players. It has been a long journey, and hopefully this is my last stop. I have tried a slew of other players had their issues were enough to cause me to move on. I have had a total of one problem with Listen at this point, and it was identifying multiple directories as a single book. It has behaved the most sane with the bluetooth in my car. It has the ability to adjust volume per book, it remembers place between devices, oh my the list of features and everything seems to actually work. I do wish there was a spoken word/audiobook EQ profile, but I think that is actually an Android issue not a Listen issue. So I am not going to ding Listen for it. Update: It just gets better, within a few hours of the review the author wrote with suggestions to both of my issues. Update2: After upgrading to Marshmallow, I had a minor bluetooth issue, within a couple of hours of emailing the dev, he had a beta release for me to test fixing the problem. Great App and Great Support, well worth paying for this app.
Best in class Tried a lot of players and this one was by far the best. Full featured but easy to navigate, lovely interface and the developer respond quickly when I had a question. Terrific app and great value.
EDIT: Okay thanks, that fixed it. I still think that's a weird feature to enable by default. PREVIOUS COMMENT: I hadn't updated this app for ages because it had all the features I needed, and seemed stable. However when I finally did update, the latest version seems to have broken the sleep timer. No matter if I have headphones connected or not, or whether the screen is on or not, the timer never hits zero, so it never stops playing automatically. At around the 30 seconds remaining Mark there is a 'bling' sorta sound and the sleep timer resets. Using VLC now to listen to audio for an app with working sleep timer.
Absolutely awesome. I had almost given up finding a player that would read the play time and time left correctly and wouldnt crash everytime the book paused. Even the android music app sucked at playing audiobook files. Some of my files are 8 and 10 HOURS long and yes thats one single file from one single book. This app playes them flawlessly and even has the correct play and time left times displayed. Never loses its place when I recieve a phone call or even reatart the phone. Worth every penny! Hotfix for crash due to Dropbox deprecation changes.
