The Mi Box app allows you to control the Mi Box from your smartphone.
Attention, this isn't the official Mi Box app, but with this remote control app, you can control it.

We offer a variety of remotes, so you can choose the one that suits your device.

The app was designed to help you use your Mi Box device even if you can't find your remote control! However, you should note that the app requires your phone to have an IR sensor.

I think at first when you are trying to set the controller it's not nice that you are not able because there are TOO MUCH apps, I find that it would be okay later, when you have already all set up, but at first it's just impossible to use like that. And my remote it's not working fine so it was not that worth it. Some of the options still work, but not the most important one for me that it's turning on and off. They have an amazing client attention.

the remote works great, but everytime you go on it to change volume or something there's an advert, so you have to wait, miss scenes, not able to lower volume or pause on time. You choose mibox because the apps / movie channels don't have ads.. now the remote has them

This is the only app working with my Mi Box perfectly, I also added my TCL TV, and it's working. I paid for the premium "one-time payment." I just hope there is a mute button.
