Awesome app. My movie cost saved here. Gives me freedom to watch high quality movie and TV series at my convenience and best part I can pause it, carry it on my phone and play whenever I want.. if not yet subscribed to Amazon Prime, iwould say don't think twice, go ahead and subscribe. Prime video is just one part of Amazon Prime. There are so many things to go with...

If the app gave you a default quality option I would give it 5 stars. Even though I select the "best" option under video quality, it doesn't tell me the actual quality like youtube would. Also I never know if it's in HD because there is no icon to show me like on my desktop PC. At least there it shows me if HD is on and the quality. Videos appear to be at 480p for me. I have 190Mbps down and 10Mbps up on my internet, no reason I shouldn't have 1080p quality on my tablet.

It would be incredibly easy for you to simply just make the app have all the features that Netflix has and to work as good as Netflix does but you don't so until it works as good as Netflix does I won't bother rating it. I don't know maybe Amazon video Prime should use focus groups or something. It doesn't seem like anyone pays attention to what the customer wants anymore.

Just support chromecast! I'm paying for prime, and I've got a firestick in the living room. I don't want the kids to have a firestick, so they've got a Chromecast. You're going out of your way to stop it working! Doesn't work when casting the screen now! Also... Why is there no way to only view stuff that is included with prime?! I don't want to pay for your rubbish film selection.

I have downloaded a movie Music and Lyrics and then started watching same... It's didn't complete 48 hours access time and half seen movie for disappear on its own from downloaded movies!!! Not sure why... Didn't logoff or login the account on device... No deletion by myself and around 500 MB data got wasted as downloaded movie content disappeared on its own...

Videos always plays smoothly with minimal buffering. The option to download movies and shows is always appreciated. Overall another well designed and easy to use and from Amazon. My two main complaints are the lack of Chromecast support and the ease at which you can accidentally purchase or rent content. If these were addressed this review would be 5 stars.

Really easy to use, and I like that you can download the episodes to watch at a later time. I download them to my phone and the quality is really good even on the lowest quality option (lower the quality, less storage and data used). I tend to watch it on the 'better' option and download via wifi, which gives me no issues. Also I rarely ever have to wait for the video to buffer.
Its the worst paid service app ever. There is such a pathetic number of things to watch. You can search the most popular movies and it wont show up because its not there. There's no preference section. The lamest and stupidest and most unworthy things are available on it. I recommend dont pay for prime. Get Netflix instead
Obsessed with this app. It barely uses much data while downloading. I use the second best downloading setting 'better' to download and watch my shows offline. The streaming is good, though you need a good internet connection for the app to stream the shows fast and properly. Though the categorisation and recommend shows and movies need to be worked on.
You can't cast - Amazon & Google need to put on thier big kid pants and play in the same sandbox. Also, there's no way to rate - if we can't tell Amazon what we like on selection, how do they provide what we want? And if they know what we like then maybe they wouldn't cancel good original shows!
When the app works, it's great. But it never works. It crashes all the time, locks up the phone OS and frequently gets stuck loading which can only ever fixed by a device reset. You must reset your phone once a day to use this app. One of the worst video apps on android and in fact the worst app I have used on any platform.
Great content. App is overall good. But most of the times when I try to play downloaded content regardless of the data network is good or unavailable, the downloaded content doesn't play and I have to restart my phone to view it. Not expected from amazon. And even though there is no video on the download queue, it keeps pushing error messages for download failure.
TV shows I download keep appearing in my notifications on my Pixel 2 XL. I clear the notification and within a few minutes it's back. Only happens with Amazon Prime Video downloads. Very annoying. Also annoying videos play during app startup. Should be able to disable these...
Love this app. Couldn't find it in the play store, so I had to download Amazon underground in order to get it, but other than that it's really good stuff. Amazon needs to work on making the video app more easily available, that's my only negative critique.
There's basically nothing in the Dutch catalogue. Only a handful of films and series are available. The only thing I can find of interest is The Grand Tour. Even at €1 per month, a Dutch subscription would be overpriced. And even if the app were loaded with good material, Amazon doesn't support Chromecast. Seriously? A paid television app that doesn't support Chromecast? Forget about it.
I pay for Prime but they insist on playing advertisements when I open the app. If you have seen signal (I ride a commuter train) the ads crash the app to the point it won't respond without rebooting my phone. Downloads take very long even for smaller files that Netflix. That is if it doesn't crash during downloads. Using Galaxy S8.
It's disappointing that the app will doesn't have Chromecast support. However, the bigger disappointment recently is that the app has started playing many programs in fast forward. Rate than just playing the video while streaming, it plays the program in a fast forward like style, so that no audio is heard, and nothing is watchable because it's leading ahead in jumps of 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Not acceptable, as it'll still use up the data for streaming an entire program, but only take 30-40% of the time needed because it's all been in FF!!!
This has very limited movies and shows. Video quality is good though quantity is less. Search do not find movie name or series. Very less choice to select latest content in market. Movies can not be watched without prime membership, but not a worth to buy prime membership for this numbers of quantity in different geners.
Although i really love the content of the app... But a lot of syncing issues are there... Lip sync is very bad for certain movies like 'the magic within' which i just saw and for tv shows like two and a half men... Also subtitle sync is also an error... Plus it blurres even when i have an excellent wifi connection... Otherwise everything is great.... Amazon pls work on these issues... U guys are going great... Keep adding new stuff like This
The app is great and Everything is fine except for the sound.. if we are traveling by bus or train.. it's too bad.. please look into this or give us an option of playing the movies using some other applications like mx player etc..
I have had endless trouble with this app. I love amazon but they need to fix critical problems effecting their android video player. DO NOT LEAVE THE APP WHILE ITS PLAYING A VIDEO ON SAMSUNG S8. YOU WILL NEVER PLAY ANY VIDEO AGAIN... WITHOUT TOTALLY WIPING THE APP AND REDOWNLOADING EVERYTHING
Crashes very often, videos need 5 tries to start, if they aren't downloaded. Menus take ages to load or crash, too. The pc on the same internet connection does not have any problems, nor do other apps.
If it had Chromecast capabilities I'd keep it and give it five stars. Technically I can watch it with Chromecast but it's a pain in the butt and monopolizes my phone. I get that you want us to but whatever version of the Chromecast Amazon has made but that ain't happening. Especially since your Canadian version is lacking what the American version 79 bucks a year seems like a rip-off.
Garbage... If I want to watch a movie doesn't matter if downloaded or played over wifi then I getting an decryption error on all my devices :/ (Galaxy Note 8/Galaxy S7 Edge/LG G4)
Immense value for money. Subtitles are often out of sync and there are no settings to manually correct it. Edit: missing episodes from series which are supposedly available in full. In spite of reporting it, no actions been taken for a month.
Nowhere near as good as Netflix. Sync between devices is non existent, subtitles come and go at will. I'm using on fire TV stick, Samsung phone, iPhone, and huawei tablet. A mix of different devices, different data networks, and different WiFi, but same account. It's a jumbled mess.
It keeps giving me error messages when I try to download videos. I have had to reinstall the app 3 times so far. The most recent time I no longer could even just stream videos. Hopefully 3rd time is a charm. I am using an S8+ and initially had no problems so this is truly annoying.
Not cast compatible.. You can say Google is your competitor.. but you cannot ignore how much casting matters in current market.. Also why do we have to pay extra for older movies?
It is a really good application to access the prime video service. I only have one problem that is it is giving me a battery draining issue. My device is Lenovo Zuk Z2 plus 64 GB model. I am getting about 60% of onscreen time using this application then I get using Youtube. Please help with it.
Isn't it about time you guys add Chromecast support. Your Roku app is terrible. My TV doesn't support your app. What's the point of even offering a video service. I will never buy a movie through Amazon until you support Chromecast.
I get a message that content not available. I'm in Canada and pay for Prime Membership, why is this not working? Not impressed at all. Useless app so I'm considering scraping Prime Membership. I've watched on Smart TV. And now on tablet which is registered.
Runs just as good as Netflix, I like having the trivia during shows an movies. Only thing that gets on my nerves is if I close my phone it backs out of the show but not a big deal really.
If everything goes well nothing to worry about. First problem I needed help with it fell apart. Customer service is horrible. They all but laughed at me when I asked them to fix their mistake. Frustrated and disappointed.
App freezes a lot. Especially when downloading future episodes/movies. Subtitles are not all up-to-date. Sometimes it lags. Chromecast is still missing from the app. Finally more content could be added to compete with Netflix and others.
This would be an outstan ding app if it supported CHROMECAST!!! It is so ridiculous it doesn't have this capability when many media platforms support Chromecast. I don't want to have to watch movies on my tablet or mobile device!! Until there is a support for CHROMECAST, this app is not worth rating or subscribing too.
Your SG prime now is very disappointing. I thought it might be a bargain to subscribe with $2.99 just for prime video but after the trial. Prime video is really disappointing, total of 6 titles in movies category? American Gods not available in Singapore then why bother listing it? I decided not to waste my $2.99. Please work on your content before opening up for subscription.
No Chromecast support. It's so childish, this google/amazon feud. Accept the fact that people are going to want to buy products from both companies, and make it easy for them to switch between them. I love my Chromecasts, don't want to buy a bunch of Fires, and would watch a lot more Amazon stuff if I could cast them. I doubt I'm alone here...
App worked wonderfully for some weeks giving chance to watch old and new shows. Paid the yearly subscription but now doesn't always play the downloaded videos just hangs or I reset the phone and all the downloaded videos seem to disappear. Customer service/technical services get me going but it only seems a temporary fix of few hours to a day. About 3/4 weeks of issues with the service and counting. What's galling is that I've paid for something I can't use when I want or need to.
Poor show...unfortunately u do not support screen cast option n chrome support.... If you don't support popular devices how would u survive god bless u..episodes r uploading in months interval.. Seems like u forgot u r in video business too rather selling Grocery.
Not worth the effort, still have to use my PS4 to watch on TV as Amazon refuses to support Chromecast as they would rather limit what the customer can do with a service they are paying for rather than allow them to cast to any device and not not just Amazon stuff. They added casting for Apple TV would it really kill them to support Chromecast it's a way more popular device and would likely get them more subscribers.
