About this app

WARNING:
Since Android Auto 17.4, Google has removed the ability to connect wirelessly without bluetooth or the Headunit Server. This makes this app useless for Android Auto 17.4 and newer. Please check your Android Auto version before installing this app.

Elevate your Android Auto experience with Wireless Helper—the ultimate "Fire and Forget" utility designed specifically for Headunit Revived.

Tired of manually entering IP addresses or clicking "Connect" every time you get into your car? Wireless Helper automates the entire process in the background, so you can keep your phone in your pocket and your focus on the road.

Why use Wireless Helper?
* Automatic Trigger: Effortlessly launches Android Auto Wireless on your phone as soon as your tablet is detected.
* Smart Bluetooth Start: Configure the app to start searching the moment your phone connects to your car's Bluetooth hands-free system.
* Zero Configuration: Automatically finds your Headunit Revived tablet via NSD (mDNS) or passive TCP triggers. No manual setup required!
* Battery Efficient: The service runs only when searching and shuts down automatically once the connection is verified, keeping your battery healthy.
* Clean Interface: A modern, minimal UI that stays out of your way.

How it works:
1. Open Wireless Helper and grant the required permissions.
2. (Optional) Select your car's Bluetooth device for Auto-Start.
3. Tap "Start Wireless Mode."
4. Wireless Helper will find your tablet, trigger the connection, and disappear from your notification bar once you're connected.

Note: This app requires a tablet or device running Headunit Revived to function.

I will have to give 1 start at the moment. mainly due to the fact that the application only works while the screen is unlocked. If you lock the screen the connection to the car is dropped. I emailed the logs to be reviewed and got no answer. chased it up twice. was eventually told it would be looked at. been a few weeks and heard nothing back.

It's a great app overall but I have one major issue with it. when I connect to my car's Bluetooth device, the app automatically starts the searching process, but android auto still doesn't start in the car until I manually open wireless helper, turn off search, and start searching again. I have to do this every time. Bluetooth delay has not seemed to fix the issue. would absolutely rate it a 5 star if this issue got resolved..

I couldn't figure out how to make it work. To be honest I'm not exactly sure how I did get it to work but having read a couple comments about the problem being not following the instructions I went back to the settings and managed to change something that made it work wirelessly. I don't know if its possible to make the app more intuitive for future users or at least provide more basic instructions but maybe that would help some of the negative reviews.
