MEATER® is the world’s first Wireless Smart Meat Thermometer that can help you cook meats perfectly every time.

The MEATER® app, together with the MEATER® meat thermometer (sold separately at https://meater.com/shop) will change the way you cook your meals, and make it a new and exciting experience. Using patented software algorithms, the MEATER® app will give you cook time estimates, and guide you towards the juiciest steak, chicken, turkey, fish or other cut of meat that you've ever cooked.

This app requires at least one MEATER® probe to operate (sold separately at https://meater.com/shop). The MEATER® app supports all Android devices with Bluetooth® LE (Bluetooth® Smart) support, running Android 8 and Wear OS 3 or later.

Ratings and reviews

I've had my MEATER device for over two years and have been very happy with it. The wand is durable and easy to charge and use, while the app makes selecting the meat and desired temperature simple. I especially like that it tells you when to remove the meat from the heat, accounting for carryover cooking so it doesn't overcook. It's expensive, but the durability helps justify the price. My only real complaint is that connectivity can be inconsistent at times.

The probe works well if you ever get connected. The app is trash and has been since I got the probe several years ago. I'd say chances of getting the probe communicating with the base (indicated by the base flashing green) is a coin toss at best. Having the device show up in the app is even worse odds. Many times I give up and just use an instant read digital thermometer as needed. Until they get these issues worked out I wouldn't recommend the app or the device.

This app was great until recently. The "Setup a Cook" button no longer works. The app is communicating with the probe but the button is inoperative. I've removed , rebooted, and re-installed and tried two different phones with the same result. Two stars, vs one, is because I can still setup a temp alarm but without the Cook button, functionality is quite limited. Really need this fixed.
