About this app

StarStarter is a therapeutic mobile game, clinically validated to manage anxiety symptoms.

StarStarter’s core therapeutic method is a game-based approach to a decades-old area of clinical and neuroscientific research known as Attention Bias Modification (ABM).

How Do I Play StarStarter?

Planet X is in distress and needs your help! A dark cosmic force has caused the planet to spiral out of its solar system and into deep dark space, draining energy from nearby constellations. Inhabitants of these constellations are now in darkness, but you can save them!

Each week your mission is to enter deep space with your ship, the StarStarter, swiping it across the game board to capture star energy and relight the constellations. As you progress, you’ll unlock Stellar Wisdom, get power ups, and increase your magnetic attraction field. Recommended play time is 6-12 minutes a day, 4 times a week, for 4 weeks to see results.

How Does StarStarter Work?
StarStarter’s core therapeutic method is a game-based approach to a subconscious cognitive training method called Attention Bias Modification (ABM).

The human brain has the unique ability to recognize facial expressions subconsciously, as a baby responds to a parent’s smile. StarStarter uses facial expressions within game play to re-train emotional and attentional patterns that can drive persistent feelings of anxiety.

StarStarter’s proprietary game mechanics have been designed and optimized through a decade of NIH-funded neuroscientific research by our Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Tracy Dennis-Tiwary.

Warnings and Limitations
StarStarter is available non-prescription under FDA enforcement discretion; it is not evaluated, cleared or approved by FDA. It is not intended to diagnose, monitor, treat or prevent any disease. It may be considered as an adjunct to clinical care, it does not replace clinical care.
