Ratings and reviews

I really like the app, and I think the speech recognition would be really useful but it's not working very well on an Android. I've had some success with this, but recently it doesn't seem to interface with the microphone very well. I'll hit The record button and start speaking and before I get a word out it will beep that I got it wrong. I've seen on some Reddit posts that there are a number of people having problems with Babbel's interface to the microphone. May have to ask for my money back

Was really good for a year or so. It does a much better job at explaining certain things than most other apps. But for the past three months the microphone has just been messing up. My voice answers take forever to register, and it causes the lessons to take 4 times longer, just because of the loading. And that's if it actually works. Not a phone issue either, my phone mic works everywhere else. Hoping for a fix soon. I liked the lessons because they were quick, but now they take forever.

This app has a way better teaching system than Duolingo It has great lesson plans and I feel like I learn better using it. I like that they try to explain to language concepts like reflexive verbs and try to teach you new words organically through a conversation at the end of a lesson. But good God, the mic feature is terrible. I never try to do spoken review because half the time mic button doesn't register when pressed or doesn't obviously come on. Speech recognition is bad too. Fix the mic!
