Ratings and reviews

If you can find a discount price (I got a lifetime subscription for substantially less) then it's worth it. The content itself is definitely working and feels more robust and useful than Duolingo. Just don't waste your time tracking activities or streaks. The app is at best buggy and it rarely acknowledges either on a consistent basis. (And "tech support" is laughably bad. They couldn't care less.) But still worth the price if you can find it on sale. Update 6/30/24. Support remains useless.

I absolutely could not learn using audio tapes in the past. Nothing stuck. Nothing. Babbel uses the tri-modal approach, best for almost all types of learners. I also augment my experience by adding a notebook where I write a lot of what I'm learning down. At 74, I didn't believe I could learn a new language, but I'm retaining so much. Two thumbs up!

Babbel has increased my vocabulary and helped with pronunciation. But i wish there were a qwerty keyboard for entering letters whenever you have to spell a vocabulary word. I find it difficult to select the letter I want. Also, a little more granular ability to skip particular lessons would be cool for users who already have some experience with a given language. Its amazing you can switch between 14 languages but it would be cool if it rememberyour last two or three langauge selections.
