About this app

Intarsia is marquetry for your wrist. Pale maple-toned bands sweep across darker walnut and ebony tones, a botanical sprig is set into the left side, four black wells sit in the corners and raised gold numerals mark 12, 3, 6 and 9. In the middle, a dark wood centre ringed in gold carries two gold hands over the time in serif figures and the date.

The wood is drawn, not cut: the dial is a detailed picture of inlaid wood, shown on your watch's screen.

WHAT IS ON THE DIAL

- Analog hours and minutes, with gold hands
- The same time in serif figures under the hands, 24-hour or 12-hour
- The month and the day, in your watch's language
- Four complications, one in each corner well
- Three app shortcut slots inside the gold ring, at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock

FOUR COMPLICATIONS AND THREE APP SHORTCUT SLOTS

Press and hold the dial and tap Customize. Out of the box the four complications show:

- Top left: the next sunrise or sunset
- Top right: the watch battery
- Bottom left: your latest heart rate
- Bottom right: your step count

Point any of them at another source and it follows: weather, your next calendar event, and so on. Each one takes short text with the provider's icon, a ranged value shown as its number, or an icon on its own, and any of them can be left empty.

The three small round areas at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock are app shortcut slots. They start empty and draw nothing; give one an app and a single tap opens it from the dial. They show the app's icon only, never text.

YOUR CHOICE IN CUSTOMIZE

- Hour format: a switch between 24-hour and 12-hour time. In 12-hour mode a small AM or PM sits beside the figures.

ALWAYS-ON

The always-on screen drops the wood, the hands and every complication, and keeps only the time and the date in soft gold figures on black. The always-on time is always 24-hour.

GOOD TO KNOW

Sunrise, sunset and weather complications show what your watch already knows about where you are. The face itself asks for no permissions. The Customize labels are in English in every language. There is no companion phone app, no account, no ads and no subscription.

SETTING IT UP

Buy it on your phone, then open the Play Store on your watch, where it is waiting in your library. Press and hold your current face, swipe to Intarsia and tap Customize.
