Used Headspace for a year then decided to try Calm to mix it up. Not even close. Calm includes poems, sayings, and philosophical ideas at the end of each meditation that leads to deeper learning. Headspace was always very vague. I feel like I learn something new about myself and the world after every meditation. The voiceovers are also much more relatable and relaxing. Headspace guy would always tell me to 'try' whereas the calm approach is to just be. Amazing stuff
Im using the app daily. I see incremental, continual growth in the areas I'm working on. It's definitely working for me. I tried 4 other mindfulness meditation apps before deciding to use this one. CALM is well organized and addresses mind, body, and spirit with an integrated but modular approach. I do wish the sounds could be played independently and I wished they continued past the end of each session until they are turned off. Also needs a How To on possible, suggested daily use.
A well-put-together assistant that prompts you softly to take time for yourself, and to keep it up. I love the backgrounds and noises that accompany the guided sessions, the variety and functionality of them all, and Tamara's voice and the messages behind it are authentic and soothing. Wonderful app! There is a small issue with rating each session though currently.
This is amazing and has changed my sleep! I'd love to play this for my kids as well. The woman's voice is my favorite it's so relaxing. I've fallen asleep before a 12min session is finished and I used to lay awake for HOURS and be on sleeping meds. I want to also point out I've made my bedroom a calm peaceful sleep space as well which has helped. LOVE this app.
This app truly calms the mind and spirit. I love Tamara Levitts voice. No matter the program, when I hear her voice, my body relaxes. It is very soothing. The sleep stories have put me to sleep even on nights when my mind is thinkingof everything it can to keep me awake. I was cautious initially, thinking that this may be some level of hypnosis, but it seems to just be mindfulness and relaxation techniques. It has really been helpful.
I am a very active and healthy person, trying to integrate meditation into my life. I have read numerous research publications on the benefits and it was time to try it out for myself. Daily meditation. Not easy for someone who is constantly on the run, managing personal and professional life. But Calm has made that process very easy for me. Not to mention very enjoyable. Thank you for your wonderful app and keep up the great work!
