What is Calm?
Our mission is to make the world a happier and healthier place. Through our website, blog, and app—filled with meditations, sleep stories, music, movement, and more—we’re redefining what mental health care looks like in 2021 and beyond. With over 100 million users worldwide, 100,000 new users daily, and our growing partnerships with major companies, we’re having a positive effect on more and more people each day.

Calm is recommended by top psychologists, therapists, mental health experts, and the press:

* “I’m generally wary of meditation apps because they sometimes weave in too much mystic talk for my taste. But Calm instead contains guidance like ‘Concentrate on your body’” - New York Times

* “In the frenetic, crazy, digital world we live in, sometimes it's necessary to take a step back and smell the roses” - Mashable

* “Eliminating distraction...ended up helping me relax and realize that all the stuff I was stressing about wasn't that big a deal” - Tech Republic

I love the app and have been using it for years. One of my favorite tools is the breathing exercises and I often reach for a specific one when i feel a pain attack coming on. Ideally, it would be easier to access these breathing exercises through either a dedicated "widget" on my phone's homescreen or maybe as a "sticky" user favorite section on the top of the app homescreen when you open it up. As you can probably guess, searching through history/faves while having a panic attack isn't ideal.

If you are in need of an app that is simple and budget friendly this is not the app for you. The free versions of content are weak. There are better places to find more effective exercises for sleep and anxiety. This app also, will interrupt what you are trying to look at by constantly bugging you to sign up for premium. It doesn't ask once or twice it keeps asking as if out of frustration you join just to stop the annoying pop ups about free trials and membership. I don't know if I will stay.

I didn't mind the two back-to-back splash screens promoting a free trial and everything your subscription offers, I get it. But your ads on YouTube said you had all of this amazing stuff to help people, and that your app is free, And yet when I open it I see page after page after page of everything with little lock icons on them. It's infuriating. Imagine how difficult it is to process that situation cognitively when you're dealing with sleep deprivation over the course of a week.
