Ubiquiti has no comparison. Although this isn't as plug and play as most routers, it's leagues better. Once you do the setup, which ubiquitis app makes very easy, you will notice just how superior this router is. And the ubiquiti software is just flat out amazing. Top notch for sure! You DEFINITELY get what you pay for. Now that I've used ubiquiti everything else just feels cheap. I have COMPLETE control of my network.

The app is good, and the router is great. However, setup was difficult and not as straightforward as it appeared. The app doesn't work at all set up the router on its own. You have to plug the router into another router that already has Wi-Fi set up. Then you can set up Wi-Fi for the new router, and then you can plug the new router in directly. Very convoluted. The support section of the website is very confusing. I guess they have a bunch of other IT products they're trying to sell you.

The app has developed into something quite fantastic over the humble beginnings, and is critical for my home network management as well as day-to-day customer network management. It warrants 5 stars. But it will only get 3, because standalone setup is now buried and deliberately difficult. And that's knowing what I'm looking for. Walking someone else through it over the phone? Forget it. C'mon guys. Standalone shouldn't be this hard to setup/manage.

Latest release includes important bugfixes in WiFi, Port Configuration and Control Plane.

- Application updates now require UniFi OS 5.1.33 or newer.
- Fixed an issue where the MAC Address list was cleared when disabling MAC Address Filter in WiFi settings.
- Fixed an issue where port network selection was unavailable for Flex Mini switches.
