Is it really free?
Yep! Ameelio believes that staying connected with your loved ones and paying for basic needs shouldn't be a tradeoff. You'll never have to pay for a video or voice call with us.

So, what is Ameelio anyway?
Ameelio is a nonprofit, and our mission is to build free-to-use communications technology to create a more humane and rehabilitative corrections system. You may recognize the name from our free mailing app 'Ameelio Mail: Photos to Prison', but we're only getting started.

When will Ameelio Connect be available in my facility?
If your loved one isn't incarcerated at facilities offering our service, don't worry too much. Ameelio is working hard with policymakers and correctional departments across the US and globally to make free video and voice calling a reality for everyone!

* US states with facilities offering Ameelio services currently include California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa.
** In order to use the service, you must first receive authorization from the facility as an approved visitor.

my ID expired and I went and got 1 that doesn't expire till 2032 , have tried many,many times to take pics of it to enter but it won't take them says they expired. Have emailed for help, they have given suggestions but nothing is worked. I have been trying for months. I'm lost as to what to do.

I missed my visit because the app wouldn't let me join onto the visit. As soon as I clicked join it continued to kick me off. I checked all connections, removed the app and installed it again and still wasn't able to get on. I understand having issues but it really is a bummer when you can't see your loved ones, and they can't get another visit to replace the one missed because of app issues.

I find it interesting that while going through several reviews, every one of them have support responses and then any that mention that the app is stating 'invalid birthday,' there's no support response. I can't set up my account due to the birthday issue and because everytime I attempt to submit a picture of my photo ID, I am kicked out of that app! Absolutely not impressed and super annoyed!!!!!!
