Mood is a daily check-in. You open it, tap one of five words for how the day
went, and you are done. If you want to add a note or a tag, they are on the same
screen. Nothing else is asked of you.
WHAT IT IS NOT
It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
It makes no claim about your health. It does not
measure you: no microphone, no camera, no sensors, no location, nothing about
your body ever enters it. It records what you tap and what you type, and adds it
up. It never tells you what a day of yours means.
TEN SECONDS, AND IT MEANS TEN SECONDS
Five words on one row, all visible at once, no scrolling and no menu. Tapping
one records the day. There is no Save button because there is nothing else to
press.
The note and the tags sit underneath for the days you want them, and they save
themselves as you go. Ten seconds is the floor, not the ceiling.
ONE ENTRY A DAY, AND THAT IS ON PURPOSE
A day is stored under its own date. That sounds like a detail and it is the
reason several things simply work:
• Today is whichever day it is, worked out fresh, so leaving the app open
overnight offers you a new day rather than yesterday's.
• Fixing last Tuesday uses exactly the same screen as writing today.
• Nothing has to be tidied up at midnight, because nothing was pointing at
anything.
The day it belongs to is fixed when you write it, so flying somewhere else does
not silently move weeks of your log onto other dates.
WHAT THE TRENDS SHOW
A line over the last 30 or 90 days, with gaps drawn as gaps — no line is ever
drawn across days you did not write, because that would be inventing them. An
average, the run you are on, your longest run, how the days fell across the five
words, a figure for each day of the week, and a figure for each tag.
Every one of those is worked out from your log each time the screen is drawn.
Change a Tuesday and all of them change with it. Nothing is cached, so nothing
can be stale.
Counts are counts of days. They are not a score, and the app does not keep one.
TAGS ARE YOURS
A tag is just a word you attach to days, so the trends can group by them. Work,
Sleep, Outdoors, whatever you like. The app suggests a few on the empty screen
and creates nothing until you tap one, so a fresh install really is one tap.
ONE OPTIONAL REMINDER
Off unless you switch it on. Nothing is scheduled, no notification permission is
asked for, and no channel is created until you do. It is one nudge a day at a
time you choose, on an inexact schedule — a reminder to write down how the day
went does not have to land on a particular second, so the app never asks for an
exact-alarm permission.
It skips the days you have already written. The notification asks how your day
was, and asking that when the app already has the answer would be it failing to
notice its own data. It never quotes your note or shows your word: it is read on
a lock screen, in a car and over somebody's shoulder.
IT IS ALL ON THIS PHONE
No account, no sign-up, no cloud, no sync, no server. Everything except the ads
works in airplane mode. Uninstalling deletes your log, and Save a copy is how
you keep it: one file with every day, note and tag in it, which is also how you
move to a new phone. It is never behind an ad.
Five permissions. Two of them are for the ads that keep it free, one is what the
ads SDK adds itself, and the last two exist only so the optional reminder can
arrive and survive a restart.
Ten seconds a day. Notes, tags and trends. Offline, no account, no paywall.
