I had high hopes for this GPS app. But it failed to deliver. I did a kown 3 mile hike. It was off by 3/4 miles. It showed 2.25 miles. Total time was 45 minutes. App showed 20 minutes. Used it again along side a handheld Garmin GPS. Again, the apps measured distance was about .25 mile per one mile traved. The timer was very inaccurate. The map was accurate, so no worries there if you want to use it as a map guide. But if you want to track time and distance, this app is very inaccurate.

Sorry you had trouble with a recording. Sounds like either the GPS or its host was stopped. Turn off battery optimizations while recording, otherwise the GPS or its host may get turned off by the manufacturer's battery saving features. Contact support@discipleskies.com for free GPS trouble shooting if the problem persists.

A bit clunky, but has a wealth of features. It’s okay for free, but you can only save 3 routes at a time. Possibly if purchased it unlocks more features. Doesn’t seem to keep a time on your routes which I would have liked and only has elevation and plotting. The good is there are lots of map vectors which is very cool. But, I’m still looking

This is a very good app. I downloaded a vector map for Michigan from within the app. It installed to /Polaris_Navigation/Maps on my internal storage. The map is relatively small so it doesn't take up much space. I tapped the map button in the lower right corner of the main screen, then the Map Manager button on the next screen. Then I tapped View Map after tapping the Michigan map (58.36MB) near the top of the screen under Vector Maps. Turning on Auto Center showed my mapped location very quickly. I turn it off whenever I want to scroll around the map. The app is quite accurate despite my not having a magnetic sensor in my phone. I have to use it to guide me whenever I use Google Maps to map out directions for walking some place in my new neighborhood, as Google Maps tends to be very confusing in tracking my movements and displaying the route directions when I'm on foot rather than an automobile.

What's new

1. New maps: Hiking and biking, National Geographic and others.
2. The Map It companion app is no longer required for location and waypoint searches.
3. Added boundaries and place labels to offline satellite maps so they are easier to use.
