Pretty good... but a lot of smoothness missing in the functionality. Biggest one for me is that you can't stream from other apps eg YouTube to the heos devices. My kids can on their iPhone version though...I thought I might be missing something but can't find it if so...something about it needing root access to the os apparently. Hmmm. Little things though like poor list management. No in song time control.. eg skip forward 10 secs. Does the basics well though. Love the Denon amp though and have bought a heos link for another of the systems I have.
Solid app that will only get better Very happy with the performance of this app. It's a clean design that's easy to navigate most of the time. It does a good job standardizing the experience regardless of the music source but allowing for some music service features to show up. I'd like to see the settings icon on the home screen, EQ settings for Mids, and to bring in more features from the service providers. I'd also like it to be clear what quality the current stream is or can be set at. Right now it's a mystery. That's the biggest gap.
My Denon X4300H is awesome and now the HEOS app needs to catch up and also become awesome. I have a huge music library on my desktop which is in the same room and on the same network. It has failed numerous times to connect. No other connection issues except this one. The Amazon music app is less than acceptable. Why can't I get my music on my Amazon app. I can do that with the Amazon app everywhere except when using it on my Denon receiver, which is why I am addressing it here instead of with Amazon. Come on guys, I just want to play my music....why can't I?
I have changed to 5 stars rating. The speakers are great, the apps is good but can be better. The only thing I noticed is the connection between speakers and the app relies on how good your WiFi connection is. A low strength signal or congested 2.4Ghz can affect the playback and "smoothness" of the app. I would recommend testing the router, upgrading to dual band WiFi if possible and use the 5Ghz. All the store that I visited they all connect the speakers via Ethernet so go figure.
Getting better, still painfully slow dev team Changed from a 1 star review. Pandora still sometimes works, spotify connect is beginning to disconnect and I am unable to control the app after a while. Stale app with updates coming in super slow. They release every 4 months. I remember sonos updating every few weeks, fixing bugs/adding services.
Work in progress Decent app, definitely needs some changes and updates. Difficult to explain in few words but the settings and layout of the app and it's options is confusing and unnatural. I'm happy with the 2 Heos 3 speakers I bought and sound pretty good for their size. What's weird is on the Heos app, wifi must be turned on but with Spotify connect it doesn't. The volume will only change if you have Spotify or Heos on the screen which is different than bluetooth.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
