Re:TUI Files is a terminal-inspired file manager built for people who want direct control over their Android storage without giving up a clear, visual interface.

Browse folders using a dual-pane layout, quickly jump between common locations, search across storage, and manage files with familiar actions. The interface combines classic file-manager navigation with the look and feel of Re:TUI.

Storage access

File management is the core purpose of Re:TUI Files. The app requests All files access so it can browse and manage files across shared storage without requiring you to select every file or folder individually.

File operations happen only when you navigate to a file or explicitly choose an action. Destructive operations use confirmation and the app’s trash flow where applicable.

APK installation

APK files are treated as a supported file type. When you explicitly open a local APK, Re:TUI Files hands it to Android and lets you choose an available package installer. It does not silently install apps, install anything in the background, or update itself outside Google Play.

Privacy

Re:TUI Files works locally on your device. It contains no advertising, analytics, accounts, cloud storage or automatic crash reporting. Your files and file contents are not uploaded to the developer.

Re:TUI Files is an independently versioned companion to Re:TUI Launcher, but it also works as a standalone Android file manager.

What’s new

Add a three-step first-run tour inside the opaque right pane and delay storage permission until Skip or Done.
Add Google Play rating, GitHub feedback, and privacy actions to Settings.
Add Appearance controls for every Files color role with ARGB sliders, hex input, swatch preview, persistent local overrides, and one-tap return to the latest Re:TUI Launcher colors.
Keep selection actions anchored without shifting folder contents and prevent them from covering right-pane dialogs.
