Essential app This review is for the paid version: FoxFi/PdaNet+ gets (tethers) wifi-only tablets and computers onto the internet using your cell phone's data plan WITHOUT paying extra $$ every month to your carrier. Includes a proxy server that supposedly hides tethered devices from the carrier but Verizon hasn't seemed to mind my occasional use yet so I haven't tested that feature. Recommended.
Droid Bionic I installed the free version first tethered and then tried the free hotspot trial..it works Great bought the paid addon to unlock and love it!! I use the hotspot for my laptops and then used the same for my ps3 works flawlessly!! Did the test connection on the ps3 and got 8mbps download and 2.3 mbps upload..outstanding considering its running wireless from my phone!! Awesome keep up the good work!!
Note 4 verizon They had it fix the next day awesome! has stoped working again please fix soon😢Thank you! I don't know what went wrong last night but we're back in business today I truly appreciate and love this app! Last night was the first time I've ever had a problem but to have it up and working again in just a few hours is awesome! I've been using this app for years and for some reason it's not working at all today says I have no Internet connection when I do. Please Help!
On Samsung Note 3 works great! With Verizon update, it quit working. I googled how to get it to work, followed instructions, and it's up and running! It takes awhile to set up but works great! Only reason not rated with 5 stars is their required lock code which I have not yet figured out how to bypass or eliminate. Every time I want to use the phone, I have to re-enter the code. I cannot even access the security area of the phone to change the code or go to the swipe method. Good thing I initially entered a fairly simple, short one!
Works Beautifully I bought this app a couple of months ago, but had no immediate need to use it until now, when the local power outfit sent out a notice that all power would be shut off next week for maintenance for most of one day. I fired it up this morning (on my Huawei 8800) and it hooked up almost instantly to my iPad. Consumer Cellular, my phone provider, does not support tethering, so this app fills a much-needed spot. I couldn't be happier with the way this thing works. Ralph L. Seifer, Long Beach, California. I have recently switched to a Moto G, but the phone tells me that an update (must have come from Consumer Cellular) has made FoxFi unavailable. Now seems I cannot tether to the phone, but I'll post more if I can find a way around this. (July 4, 2014).
Time out. Seriously? Got this for an always on hotspot to travel with me installed an old Galaxy. Works perfectly. Until I noticed that the activate hot spot check box kept clicking off. Apparently, after 10 minutes of zero activity the check box blanks and kills the connection. I would guess that this is to keep battery life in check, but it left the wifi ON, so that doesn't seem right. Seriously, I want an *always on* hotspot! DON'T build a pay app with a hidden timeout. I paid you to get RID of restrictions. C'mon guys.
12/11/2012: If you have purchased and are still unable to either install or unlock FoxFi/PdaNet+ please select contact developer in your order receipt email. We will help you unlock the full version on our end since Play Store issues do happen.
8/2/2013: You will not be sent a serial code after your purchase because you don't need it. Just keep this key app installed on your phone! It will unlock both FoxFi and PdaNet.
