About this app

FUJIFILM XApp is an app. provided by Fujifilm Corporation. Once users pair a Fujifilm digital camera with their smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth®, they can transfer captured images and movies to their smartphone or tablet, control the camera remotely, backup and restore camera settings, synchronize date, time, and location, and update firmware.
The Wi-Fi function of smartphones or tablets is also used for transferring captured images and videos, and updating firmware.
In addition, by signing in to Fujifilm's network service, daily shooting activities using the camera can be automatically summarized in a diary format.
This service is useful for reviewing their photographic activities and improving their photographic skills.

[Note]
The FUJIFILM XApp uses the GPS function of the smartphone/tablet continuously in the background, which may consume a large amount of battery power in your smartphone/tablet.
To reduce battery consumption, please go to "Settings" of FUJIFILM XApp and set the "Location synchronization interval" to a longer interval.

Ratings and reviews

Sadly this app has been extremely unreliable for me. It is consistently unable to connect to my device, 30%-60% of the time depending on the firmware version. Once connected there is about a 10%-20% chance of the connection completely breaking. It's amazing when it works, but it rarely does without major issues. I've contacted support but they have never tried to help.

This app is much better than the previous camera remote app. While I saw some people having difficulties with connections and certain phone brands, with the latest update I haven't had any diifulties whatsoever. Of note is that Samsung phones were a bit buggy with the app before, but with my Samsung phone it is working perfectly at the moment. The connection is solid and I can transfer photos to my phone as intended. The only negative is the remote photography. It works, but is a bit barebones.

Able to connect via Bluetooth for camera remote control, but will not connect via WiFi in order to transfer files. I was able to do this fine with the previous app before, but now that one will not work either. It fails to find the camera device on my phone every time. Edit: Connectivity issue was due to my phone, not the app itself. Image transfer is pretty slow, live feed and controls is a very cool feature.
