About this app

The Hawaiian Electric or HECO mobile application is a great way to view information on known outages for the island of Oahu and Maui County. Get up-to-date outage information, such as areas impacted; number of customers affected; and estimated restoration time. Receive important information from Hawaiian Electric with our alert and news notification service. Be advised of outages near your current location, using the geolocation feature on your mobile device and sign up for alerts on a specific outage. You can also report an outage directly or get access to the Oahu or Maui County trouble lines from the mobile application.

You can access your online account to view your electric bill, as well as stop/move your electric service if needed. Payments can be made directly from your checking account or with a credit card through Speedpay. You can also start new electrical service.

In addition, you can access an interactive map to find any of our electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers across the islands we service. The map allows you to find a fast charger close to you and receive information about the charger type and location. Step-by-step driving instructions are also available to help you get to your EV fast charger quickly!

Trying to view bill, all I see is a brown background. The app and websites are so buggy, I went back to paying in-person. It's like, what's the point? The third-party payment sysrem is also a rip-off because there's a max payment of $500 per transaction, so you would be charged a convenience/processing fee twice for a $501 bill.

Just about useless. App is supposed to give timely info so customers can plan around an outage; instead it provides inaccurate and untimely data. 2 hours after a reported outage, it didn't even indicate that a HECO crew was en route. Then power is suddenly restored and the app doesn't reflect that for another hour. Also it shows a single outage as multiple small outages, and provides zero add'l info as to the cause.

The report an outage doesn't work, and the outage map doesn't work. The app is just an interface to the website, and provides no value for the space of install.
