I remember the days of Nokia Maps and how good that app was on Symbian. This is close, but needs improvement. App doesn't seem to be optimized for multi-core processors or maybe not utilizing the GPU on my phone. The map display isn't very smooth, increase the frame rates to smooth it out. Also while in route the app suggested a route on the opposite side of a river I was driving which clearly was not the faster route. Just a few small changes and this NAV app will be on par with the commercial paid apps.

Update: It's reliable! At last! If it had a motorcycle mode (waze-style, but not so shonky) then 5 stars. Off-line maps are kind of essential, not just because mobile coverage in Europe isn't great, but also because you can switch off most of the bits of phone that use lots of power. Most bikes don't have a cigar lighter...

As with many independent GPS systems such as Garmin, the routes they plan for you, though shortest or fastest aren't always the most convenient. Usually they forget convenience totally. I searched for apps finally; and flop after flop I tested em. Then way at the bottom of the list shows up "Here we go" app. Gave it the test and boom! The faster more convenient route across the state (which I new of before hand). Thanks Here Apps LLC.

When I am at home, the app tells me that I am 4 minutes away from home, by foot, and shows me located somewhere out in the middle of the woods behind my house. LoL! I'm not sure if the problem is with my phone or the app... Until I find out oh, I will only give four stars.

Decent, but nowhere here as good as Google Maps and Waze for driving. As for public transport it shows departure times, bit not live times for buses and trains. As said, it's good, but in my opinion yet another Android app by Microsoft that is seriously lagging behind what other developers can do. I recently emailed support as I had issues with updating offline maps, three weeks have past and still no response. Microsoft has a long way to go on the Android platform.
Best map app on the market. I've been using Here Maps ever since my windows phone days and when Here stopped supporting that platform on windows 10 mobile I was left out to dry. Had to use other apps which were too cumbersome or just wouldn't work right. Here gets me there without a hitch.

Wow! After lambasting this app a few months ago, I decided to give it another shot on my Note 8/Gear Frontier LTE combo. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well the phone and watch companion app work together now. It's at a point where it's a solid alternative to Google Maps. Please don't screw it up!
4Stars just for opening a Navigation map and actually seeing a map first. Unlike G-Maps (which for reasons, thinks a map us the last thing I need to look at) No bloat no clutter. Haven't even used it yet - but just opening it makes me calm! :)
Google Maps is one step ahead than Nokia Maps lol .. so nice to have which lane to drive so that it is easy to take turns and the exits in GOOGLE MAPS .. nokia is always begin google...poor nokia still struggling with Android mobiles. Very poor. nokia developers are sleeping..wake up its 2018 lol. Nokia developers do you read the reviews here??? Look what people are saying..google maps and waze is far better than nokia maps lol .. though waze map is owned by google now ..
I use this when driving to the rurals where there is no LTE. Best offline solution. never experienced any crash on this app. Color contrast could use some improvement - white roads and white buildings arent the best colors
So many options for routes. Street names and roads names are actually visible unlike on Google maps. The minimal options that thing gave you made me feel so uneasy to go where it was telling me to go. With this I have had at least 3 options for travel and not just the fastest route. Thank you very much!
I like and use this app most of my drives. Can you please give some colors to the icon of the app. I face it difficult to find it when I need to start the app while I'm driving. Such happens when I get a call or a notifications and need to get back to HERE WeGo app again. Thanks
Slow, inaccurate, and searches for GPS, once it does that, it becomes garbage. 25$? Lmao, go buy Garmin or Tom Tom, Christmas pricess they will have cheap models for 60-75$ with lifetime maps.
It stays stuck at the splash page and stays that way everytime I launch the app. I had reinstalled it several times but it doesn't get fixed. It was a perfect app for me on my old phone but somehow its not working on my new phone :(
Lost pinpoint location in Stockholm today so ended up driving through toll roads, after it directed me off the correct road. Otherwise a decent app. Has many of the locations of traffic cameras in Sweden, and notifies you when driving towards them. Needs support for multi-stop trips. Also a WiFi only mode for traffic updates - it is unclear what daya is downloaded when the app is not in offline mode
Used to love this app when it was still on Symbian, now it's just useless. 1. The colour scheme is just off, I mean white on light grey, it's hard to see roads(you have to zoom in a lot to see the roads). 2. You cannot alter routes. When you put in a destination that's it, whatever route it is displayed that's the route you'll have to take. You cannot drop pins to create a customised route(something that Sygic GPS Nav does well). 3. Maps are way too old. 4. No lane assistance. Think I'll stick to using Sygic GPS Nav or maybe tryout TomTom GPS Nav.
Easier to use than other mapping and directions apps (and better than Google maps). Less cluttered and more intuitive interface. Has all necessary and useful functions, without being weighed down with a bunch of things one will likely never use. More straight forward and less confusing. It just works they way I need it to, so I can just get from point A to point B.
Even though I selected my sd card for storage, my phone gets confused with the amount of storage used, so it sometimes doesn't let me update or install apps as if my internal memory is full. I'm on Sony experia E4. Other than this, the app is great. Everything works as it should.
1. Add ability to report traffic, roadblocks/incidents 2. Start in app edits to new/wrong/missing info 3. Start tracking my preferred routes for priming the AI, UI & UX. 4. Start supporting voice input & control of here maps app 5. For gods sake add a "keep app on top option during guidance/navigation" (or driving in general). 6.if not editing in app add a companion app for certain complex things with app interchange like marking bugs bit editing them later in companion app.
Best out there! I normally don't try alternative apps if google has made one, but this one changed my perception! Google Maps, you have things to learn from this! First experienced it in my UK trip and going strong in India too.
There are many dedicated navigation apps but are worthless this is really the best and free Very good just wish you have a taxi mode (taxi lanes UK). Thanks for this great app*****
"Didn't find anything offline" are you serious? How can we navigate offline if it always tells me to go online! I relied on this app and it let me down when I needed it. I downloaded the offline map and tried to navigate various distances to find my way but it kept telling me to go online to find routes and said it's too long of a walk, really wasn't that far. How can you advertise in your description about offline navigation when clearly is a lie. Even when I'm online it says "Not a job for legs" this is one of the worst map applications I've ever used.
Quick to locate my position. Great public transport details. Excellent level of map detail (in NZ we often get rubbish treatment compared to other places - not so with this app)
I used to love this App, but suddenly after the last update HERE WeGo Maps keeps crashing without any reason while navigating! I'm using it on the LG G4 with Android 6.0 and I hope you can fix this issue asap. I don't want to switch to Google Maps!!!
Why spend over $100 on a gps, when you can get this free app that can do the exact same thing. I use this all the time everywhere. It is the most helpful app on my phone. It can give you the right directions anywhere you go, for all types of transportation.
Used to be an excellent app but since the recent upgrade it no longer works. After a single use, the app has to be uninstalled and reinstalled before it can be used again. Hopeless.
Been using this since it was Nokia Drive I am now using it on my tablet but of late it says may not be fully optimized for my system. I am using android 5.1 so not sure why, never used to say this maybe someone could explain?
Tested to go to grocery store about 1/4 mile up road. Took me 2 miles outta the way, through 2 uneeded stop lights, & actually made me do a u-turn lol. No thanks.
When I really need the app, (offline) it does not work. It doesn't load maps, and always says that is offline and need to be online. I have downloaded the maps and it is imposible to use it. Even online, it appears some squares in white with unloaded content.
Never let me down. Only thing i find is that the maps function does not rotate to landscape, so is hard to use on my galaxy tab s whilst mounted in the car. Everything else rotates, it's just the standard maps. Would be great, and worth 5 stars if this was addressed.
Will rate you 10stars if available. I don't believe I can ever get back Nokia maps (then called "Ovid map") It has been my best navigating app all my day, I recommend this to everyone who needs something special and worth ur effort by downloading it. You will enjoy it.
Why do you need my birthday to register? Why do I have to use the calendar to enter my birthday? Super inconvenient.
Offline map update has improvedπ Best working App for Travellers. And for those who are not where they are in the Map, check your GPS accuracy with a GPS Test App π€ that will show the actual tolerance to the real point.π
I love this since Nokia Lumia era. Updated offline maps is a top notch from the others because traveling doesn't always get a good cell signal.
Failed to register an account. APP notice stated I could not register an account. No reason why. DOB is for 20+ year old. Trying to enter required DOB in field provided current year calendar yet App has age requirement for use. Seriously? And then, cannot enter year of birth outside of scrolling calendar back month by month. Really? All info I entered was valid and I do not have a previous account with this App. App did not give reason as to why it would not process the entries nor did it flag entries it wouldn't accept. Searched App Help but zero info for registration issues. Completely and totally frustrating. Deleted App. P. S. Recommend correcting spelling errors within App.
Has a lot of issues with my GPS location. Other apps, including GPS location apps, Sygic and Google Maps don't have the same issue. The GPS issue extends to using this with my Gear s3.
Some maps are outdated but the offline mode is ridiculously good, just for that 5 stars, please update, some of the business listed in Nairobi closed more than 5 years ago.
Really great the way it allows offline region downloads. But, it's slow, not smooth, has older less updated info than Google maps, and crashes often with the latest update on my GS8. Tons of potential but needs a lot of polish still.
I set my home address and after this I wasn't able to change it. Because of it I lost 1 hour of my life and had to uninstall and install the app again.
The top of the top! Tried them all, Navigon, Google maps, you name it. This is a keeper! Missing multiple stops.
