HID Mobile Access® is the quality access control you have come to expect in the form of a mobile device.

The App will only be useful to you once your organization has been setup with compatible readers and your security administrator can issue Mobile IDs. To improve the door opening experience, we detect readers when the app is not open. Location Services is used exclusively for this purpose.


HID Mobile Access is compatible with Android smartwatches running Wear OS. However, it cannot function independently and requires the presence of a paired mobile device. The smartwatch serves as a widget to initiate communication with the HID reader via the mobile device, provided an active key is available.

Ratings and reviews

When it works it's okay. The app is always either not working at all or just keeps clicking continuously with a communications error. This is on three different androids of mine. The devices must be programmed in person by a third party. I am the local admin and we've stopped the rollout as this software is so finicky I was spending 20 minutes a day on user issues with less than 50 users. When you have to reboot your phone every morning to enter work, you're better off with key cards.

My hr person and I have tried several times to get this app to accept my invitation code. Maybe it's not supposed to work with Galaxy devices because she was able to activate two iPhones. My real issue is that support is lacking. The page for reporting an issue asked for as much detail as possible. Then it cut me off with a character limit before I had all of the details entered. I guess that it sent an email to tech support. I haven't received any indication of them having received it.

This app on my OnePlus 15 is pretty much broken, barely working 10% of the time. What's even worse is that it absolutely has to run in the background, even when I'm not using my phone. I tried reaching out to their support, and all they told me was to give it 24/7 GPS access instead of just when it's open. I did that, and it made zero difference. Honestly, this app deserves no more than two stars. One for the idea behind it, and the other for at least trying.
