Needs serious work. It seems that the developers who built this app didn't put much thought into the UI and UX. This app hardly follows any Material Design guidelines. Furthermore, it doesn't implement a solid navigation scheme, so you will likely lose any information you typed or need, by wrongly pressing the back button. Very frustrating when this happens.
App Need Notifications Good app but it is lacking notifications of any kind for cleaning being done, stuck Roomba, or anything like that. I don't care about manually controlling the Roomba, but the ability to start, stop, and resume a job is nice. However, there are no push notifications at all which makes having an app not super valuable. I do like that you can view run time, jobs completed, square feet cleaned, etc. And having the maintenance info at hand is very nice too. The app is stable from my findings.
For what the app offers, it is nice, but seriously do not buy the 900 series specifically for the app. Echoing pretty much what everyone else says, without push notifications, the app is a novelty. I work from home and constantly find the Roomba stuck under furniture with a dead battery. Add push notifications, and even email notifications in the interim would be great!
No push notifications is horrible. However, the worst part is that if you are not around to change the bin the job is cancelled after an hour. This means that if you have a large area to clean and you want to let the roomba run in the morning the areas further away from the roomba will never be cleaned unless you restart the job from scratch. There shouldn't be an automatic cancel job, you should have the option to resume a previous.
Okay but could be a lot better For the price I feel the app and functionality of Roomba could be a lot better. Seems like it has an error almost every day that requires a manual fix. App won't alert your phone if there is a problem and app has no list of error codes except in a separate downloadable manual--very inconvenient. There should be a way to limit the # of launches after a recharge so I don't have to manually end the cleaning cycle as it seems to never end a daily cleaning cycle unless I do it manually.
Poor app for the price of the 900 series We paid lot of money for the roomba! I have programmed a cleaning for today and when I opened the app to see how it is going there is a warning in the app but no information is available, disappointing. Now I have to wait till I arrive at home to see what happen. First day using it and first error. I expect new releases fixing these issues or I will not recommend it to anybody. Moreover, I think new features should be included to the app like "Go Home", "Warning history" button etc
