This review applies to the j7 as much as the app. Object review hasn't worked since I got it a year ago. App reinstalled multiple times to try and fix. Disappointed, as this was a major selling point. The mapping is terrible. It needs an option to lock the map to avoid it turning into a random geometric puzzle over time. The robot itself has needed 3 roller replacements in 12 months, wearing out on normal carpet use. Overall, the competition is better and cheaper with better apps.

When setting up my j9 the MAC address given through the app was wrong. Specifically the 4th character was an 'E' but should have been a 'C'. I had to connect to a non-mac filtered WiFi network. Check the MAC in the router and (to find the correct value) and then reconnect the robot to the MAC filtered address. Hopefully this review helps others with the same problem. Don't trust the app to give the correct MAC address.

The app sends error messages that have no resolutions, the app then no longer controls the robot. I have had problems with the app, which is a frustrating time waster. I did eventually get it sorted by finding and messaging the irobot team, it took a while but they seemed to fix it remotely. It just started working again one day. It's working again now which is good.
