Universal TV Remote Control turns your phone into a remote for the TVs you already own: over Wi-Fi with smart TVs, and over infrared with older sets that never went online. One TV remote app covers every television in the house — lost controller, broken buttons or dead batteries.
No account, no sign-up. Open the app, pick your TV, start pressing. A banner sits below the buttons, never over them, and nothing interrupts you while you drive the TV.
📱 SMART TV REMOTE CONTROL OVER WI-FI
Your phone and your TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. From there the app speaks each brand's own control protocol, not a one-size-fits-all guess, which is why this smart TV remote reaches sets that generic remote apps miss.
• Samsung TV remote: Tizen smart TVs
• LG TV remote: webOS, and the older NetCast sets sold around 2010 to 2013
• Hisense TV remote: VIDAA, including recent firmware that puts a pairing code on screen
• Toshiba TV remote: the VIDAA sets Toshiba badges as its own
• Roku remote: Roku TVs from TCL, Hisense and Sharp, plus Roku streaming players
• Android TV and Google TV remote: paired with a code shown on screen
• Sony TV remote: Bravia smart TVs
• Vizio TV remote: SmartCast displays
• Panasonic Viera, Philips and Amazon Fire TV
• Anything else answering UPnP or DIAL, as a fallback
📡 INFRARED (IR) TV REMOTE CONTROL FOR NON-SMART TVS
If your phone has a built-in IR blaster, the app is a full infrared remote for more than 110 TV brands. No Wi-Fi, no internet, no pairing: point and press.
• Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, Sanyo, Akai, Grundig, Thomson, Daewoo, JVC, RCA, Haier, Bush, Zenith and many more
• Where a brand shipped several handsets, you get several to try, not one
• Most carry a full number keypad, so you can enter a channel directly
🎮 FEATURES THAT REPLACE YOUR PLASTIC REMOTE
• Turn the TV on, not only off: Wake-on-LAN magic packets switch on supported smart TVs that are powered down.
• Keyboard and voice search: type a film title on your phone keyboard, or press the microphone and say it.
• Full navigation: D-pad, swipe touchpad, number keypad, volume, mute, channel, input, play, pause, rewind, record, menu, guide, info, exit, and the coloured buttons.
• Auto-discovery: scans your network several ways at once, so a set that ignores one method is found by another.
• Remembers what you paired. Reconnecting takes a tap.
• App shortcuts: Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, Spotify, DStv, Showmax, on the platforms that allow it.
• Haptic feedback: a tick on every press.
🔒 PRIVACY-FIRST, LOCAL NETWORK ARCHITECTURE
Commands travel straight from your phone to your TV across your own network. Nothing goes through an outside server, and the app does not track what you watch. When a TV will not connect, built-in diagnostics produce a plain report you can send to support.
❓ QUESTIONS & TROUBLESHOOTING
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, if your phone has an IR blaster. Infrared is a direct line of sight and needs no network.
Does my phone have an IR blaster?
Many Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco, Huawei, Honor and TCL phones do; most Samsung and Google phones do not. If yours does not, the smart TV remote over Wi-Fi still works.
Why is my smart TV not found?
The TV and the phone must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks, VPNs and split 2.4GHz/5GHz bands are the usual reason. Check the TV is on, then rescan.
Does it cast or mirror my screen?
There is a button that opens your phone's own cast and screen-mirroring picker. The casting itself is handled by Android, not by this app.
✉️ SUPPORT & MODEL REQUESTS
If your TV is not listed, or a button does not do what it should, email chepkwonyke2@gmail.com with your TV brand and the model number of its remote. Codes are added from real reports.
