About this app

This is the new app for ECOBICI, Mexico City’s public bike system.

ECOBICI’s evolution has begun. You can now access more than 9k bikes and 687 state-of-the-art stations.

Just plan, unlock, and ride. With the ECOBICI app, you can:
- Choose a plan, or switch plans
- Find stations near you, and check their bike availability in real time
- Easily unlock a bike at the port
- Enjoy unlimited 45-minute rides
- Get confirmation after successfully locking a bike
- Review your ride history
- Easily link your MI card

ECOBICI is ideal for short rides. It also lets you communicate with other means of transportation. You can find bike lanes on the map, and just go places easily.

The app is buggy. I had to sign up on the website (didn't work in app) and add a payment method in the app (didn't work on website). The worst part is the places to return bikes are often full so you have to ride to the next place and walk back, which sometimes defeats the purpose of the bike. But when it works it's nice to have a bike to use in the city.

I couldn't even pay. Two different credit cards on both the app and website. Error messages. "Something went wrong please try again" for the website "We apologize something went wrong please try again" for the app. Support was absolutely useless and a waste of time and averaged almost 10 minutes between replies and then just stopped replying. Super disappointing.

I purchased a 3-day pass I'm on day two and every time I try to rent a bike it tells me I'm out of bike rentals. The 800 number they provide for customer service is questionably even still in their possession. When you call it's a promotion bot for something ambiguous and there's no real customer service rep to talk to. Super scammy. Also I emailed them and have not heard back from them at all. Again extremely scammy. When it works it's great but when you have problems there's no way to fix it.
