“If you frequently call US numbers from abroad, this is a must-have app. It works just like a regular phone number, and we found the quality of the connection to be consistently excellent.”

Use magicApp on devices running Android 5.0 or higher.

*Texting to international numbers is not available and texts to some US mobile numbers may not be delivered. Unlimited calling does not include calls to Alaska or the Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada or calls to non-8YY calling cards, platforms, conferences, or chat lines, for which additional fees will apply. *Bug causes issues with Android Auto* -Have to "force stop" the app when using Android Auto (wireless or wired) because it will perpetually say "Call in Progress" if the app is open at all in the background not allowing music or other features to play in the car. I only still have the service because the number is printed on a lot of my older business cards. When you are using it as a landline plugged into a wall, It's not bad. As an app on the phone, very inconsistent.

1/2024 Better quality with app. on Android phone. Standard phone on land line beeps most of the time, to indicate a missed call when activated. Occasional glitches, but clear calls vs. using phone attached to m.j. Update 1/2024 Voice quality: At times, people tell me bad echo on my line via android app. It also has a jingle playing in the background that I can't get rid of (solved, no more background jingle). Handset quality is mostly good.

Update: 10/2023 the application for the most part is much better than it used to be. Well worth using when you have good Wi-Fi or Internet available. 12/2021 All of a sudden wants an email what kind of b******* is this. It's not perfect it's a work-in-progress but well worth using with care. PS. 9 out of 10 times it's very good. Sometimes you have to close all applications & possibly restart the phone. I've only seen it happen once in the last 10 months. I probably use it 5 times per week.
