About this app

MoBY is the free mobility app for all of Bavaria. It's your personal travel companion for all public transport users. Plan your journeys, book tickets, get information about delays, and request connections: MoBY knows almost all connections in Bavaria and beyond, whether in the city or the countryside, by train, subway, S-Bahn, bus, tram, and sharing services (e-scooters, rental bikes, etc.), or even by on-demand bus.

The app is operated by the Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) on behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport. MoBY's functionality is constantly evolving, with new digital services being added regularly. For passengers, this means: information, planning, booking, and payment – ​​all in one app and always up to date.

Key Features

Timetable Information: MoBY provides precise door-to-door connections by train, bus, and complementary mobility options such as sharing and on-demand services. The app knows nearly 50,000 Bavarian train and bus stops and provides information on departures and arrivals at the user's selected stop or in their vicinity – generally based on real-time data that takes potential delays or cancellations into account. The current positions of most modes of transport can be tracked live on a map. Frequently used connections can be saved as favorites and accessed with a single click. MoBY can monitor stops, lines, and planned journeys on request and informs travelers of current updates via push notifications.

Tickets: MoBY users can book and pay for the Deutschlandticket and the Bavarian discounted ticket for trainees, students, and volunteers via the app. Popular regional day tickets such as the Bayern-Ticket Day/Night, various regional tickets, and the Bavarian bicycle day ticket are also available in MoBY. The app also offers a range of single and day tickets for journeys within the MVV and VGN transport associations. More ticket options will be added gradually.

Connection notification: Passengers with connecting services on regional trains can pre-register their connection requests with just one click via the app. In case of a delayed arrival, users receive timely feedback before their planned transfer as to whether the connecting train is likely to wait.

Ratings and reviews

The map shows the vehicles realtime locations of only two bus lines around my region, but not the ones from the bus line which runs in my street. How to make that apoear on the map ?

DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THIS APP!! The customer support is not existent. I booked a ticket with the wrong name and i tried to change it but no one responded. I even got a ticket because of it.

This is easy to buy ticket.
