About this app

SMS Messenger & Home is designed for users who want carrier messaging and a practical Android home screen in the same application.

Use it as your default SMS app for SMS and MMS features, or select it separately as your Home app for launcher features. The two Android roles remain independent.

No app registration or sign-in is needed.

SEND AND RECEIVE CARRIER MESSAGES

Choose SMS Messenger & Home from Android's default SMS selection screen to enable messaging access.

Read existing conversations, start a new text, reply to contacts and receive message notifications. Supported dual-SIM phones can offer a choice of available SIM for outgoing texts.

Your network provider and mobile plan determine SMS/MMS availability, message delivery and any applicable charges.

CONTROL YOUR MESSAGE LIST

Use search to find text inside conversations and browse the conversation categories available in the app.

Pin important threads to keep them easier to reach. Archive conversations you want removed from the main inbox without deleting them. Local controls are available for marking conversations read or unread.

Unwanted conversations can be blocked manually.

For recognised one-time codes, a copy option may be available so the code can be placed on your clipboard. Copying a code is only a messaging convenience; the app does not authenticate accounts or act as a financial service.

ADD CONTENT TO A MESSAGE

Select supported photos, video or audio through Android's picker. Contact information can also be selected, or a picture can be captured through an available camera application.

For optional location sharing, grant approximate-location permission and a map link can be placed into the message draft.

Check all recipients and attachments before sending.

PLAN A MESSAGE FOR LATER

Scheduled messaging allows a draft to be prepared for a future time. While waiting, the pending message and attachment references remain on the device.

Schedules can be cancelled before sending. Exact-alarm access may be required on some compatible versions of Android.

A scheduled message still requires the app to hold the default SMS role with the necessary permissions. An available SIM and network connection are also required, and exact-time delivery cannot be guaranteed.

CREATE AND RESTORE LOCAL SMS BACKUPS

From the Messages menu, open Backup and restore. Pick a folder using Android's file picker and create a JSON file with Backup now.

For restoration, select a compatible backup, check the number of messages shown and confirm before importing.

Only SMS text messages are covered by this feature. MMS attachments are excluded and automatic scheduled backups are not provided.

Backup and restore require SMS Messenger & Home to be the default SMS app. When restoration finishes, you may continue using it or go to Android's default-app settings and select your previous SMS app.

Messages that have already been imported remain in Android's SMS store after switching apps.

Backup files are stored without app-provided encryption. Keep them in a trusted location.

USE THE BUILT-IN HOME LAUNCHER

Select SMS Messenger & Home as your Home application to use its launcher. Open installed applications from the app drawer, organise shortcuts, keep favourites nearby and add supported widgets through the widget picker.

The home screen also shows a clock and date while providing convenient entry points to the inbox and composer.

Using the launcher alone does not require SMS access.

PRIVACY INFORMATION

Advertising is present in the app. Technical advertising, analytics and crash-reporting data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy and Data safety disclosure.

SMS/MMS communication is not end-to-end encrypted. Permissions and default-app selections remain controllable through Android settings.
