About this app

Text Messenger Home App puts SMS/MMS messaging, message-management tools and an Android launcher in one.

Choose which parts you want to use through Android's default-app settings. Messaging requires the default SMS role, while the launcher works through the separate Home-app role.

There is no in-app account to create and no sign-in process.

SMS AND MMS CONVERSATIONS

Once the app is selected as your default SMS handler, you can browse existing threads, write messages, reply to contacts and receive notifications for new texts.

Supported devices with two SIMs can allow selection of an available SIM before an outgoing message is sent.

All carrier messaging remains dependent on your hardware, SIM, mobile operator and plan. Delivery and charges are determined by those services.

INBOX MANAGEMENT

Use message-text search to locate conversations and browse the available conversation categories.

Pin conversations you use often and archive threads that do not need to remain in the main inbox. Local controls allow messages to be treated as read or unread.

Manual conversation blocking is also available.

For recognised one-time codes, the app may show an action that lets you copy the code. It does not authenticate accounts or perform financial transactions.

PHOTOS, AUDIO, VIDEO AND MORE

Supported attachments can be chosen through Android's picker. This includes compatible photos, audio and video.

You can take a picture using an available camera app or choose contact details to include.

Approximate-location permission is requested only if you decide to use optional location sharing. When used, a map link is placed into the draft.

Always confirm who the message is going to and what has been attached.

SCHEDULED SENDING

Prepare messages in advance and select a later time.

While a message is pending, its scheduling information and attachment references are held locally. The pending item can be cancelled before sending.

Exact-alarm access may be requested on Android versions where it is needed.

At send time, the app still requires the default SMS role and relevant permissions. The phone also needs an available SIM and network service. Scheduling therefore cannot guarantee exact-time delivery.

BACKUP AND RESTORE WITHOUT AN ONLINE ACCOUNT

Open Backup and restore from the navigation menu. Select a folder through Android's file picker and choose Backup now to generate a JSON file.

A compatible file can later be selected for restore. Review the number of SMS messages shown before confirming the operation.

This process is limited to SMS text messages. MMS attachments are excluded and automatic scheduled backups are not offered.

The default SMS role is necessary while creating or importing backups.

Once restoration ends, you can keep this app selected or return to Android settings and select your previous SMS app.

Changing apps later does not remove messages that were already restored into Android's SMS database.

Backup files are not encrypted by Text Messenger Home App. Protect them accordingly.

OPTIONAL ANDROID LAUNCHER

Choose the app as your Home app to access its custom launcher.

Use the app drawer, favourite apps, organised shortcuts and compatible Android widgets. The home screen also includes clock and date information plus access to your messages and composer.

Using it as a launcher is separate from choosing it as the default SMS app.

PRIVACY CONTROLS

Advertising is included. Related technical advertising information, analytics and crash data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy and Data safety section.

SMS and MMS messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Permissions and default-app choices can be reviewed or changed from Android settings.
