SMS Messages Home Screen gives you a carrier messaging app and an Android home-screen experience in one package.
Send SMS and MMS after selecting it as your default messaging app, keep conversations organised, prepare texts for later and save SMS text messages to a local backup file.
You can also set the app as your Android Home app to use the included launcher.
No user account is needed.
EVERYDAY SMS AND MMS
Android asks you to confirm the default SMS application before full messaging access is available.
After selecting SMS Messages Home Screen, you can read conversations, start messages, reply to contacts and receive message notifications.
Where supported, dual-SIM devices allow selection of an available SIM for sending.
SMS/MMS capabilities, costs and successful delivery depend on your carrier, phone and mobile plan.
FIND AND MANAGE THREADS
Search through message text or use available conversation categories to navigate your inbox.
Pin conversations that matter, archive threads you want away from the main inbox and use local read/unread controls.
Manual blocking is provided for unwanted conversations.
If the app recognises a one-time code, you can choose the copy action when available. This does not verify your identity or provide any financial function.
MESSAGE ATTACHMENTS
Choose supported media with Android's file picker, including images, video and audio.
You can capture a photo with an installed camera application or select contact details to add to a message.
For optional location sharing, approximate-location permission enables a map link to be inserted in the draft.
Check recipients, attachments and message content before sending.
MESSAGES FOR LATER
The scheduling option lets you prepare a message for a future time.
Pending scheduled content and attachment references are stored locally. Until it sends, the schedule can be cancelled.
Some versions of Android may require access related to exact alarms.
Scheduling is not a delivery guarantee. Sending still depends on the app remaining the default SMS handler, required permissions, network availability and an active SIM.
BACKUP SMS TEXT LOCALLY
Navigate to Backup and restore and use Android's folder picker to select where your backup should be stored.
Backup now creates a JSON file containing supported SMS text messages.
To restore, select a compatible backup, review its message count and approve the import.
MMS attachments are not included, and backups are not created automatically on a schedule.
The app needs to be your current default SMS app while backup and restoration operations are performed.
After restoration, you can continue with SMS Messages Home Screen or open the system settings and choose another SMS application. Restored messages already written into Android's SMS store remain there after the default app changes.
The backup file is not encrypted by the app. Keep it only where you intend to store or share it.
HOME, APPS AND WIDGETS
Use Android's Home-app selection to activate the launcher.
Browse all installed apps through the drawer, organise shortcuts, keep favourite apps accessible and add supported widgets with the built-in picker.
Clock and date information is included along with fast access to the message inbox and composer.
The SMS and Home roles are two different Android selections. Launcher use alone does not require SMS access.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY INFORMATION
The application contains advertising. Technical information used for ads, analytics and crash reporting is handled as explained in the Privacy Policy and Data safety disclosure.
SMS and MMS are not end-to-end encrypted. Android settings remain available for changing permissions and default apps.
Send and organise SMS/MMS, restore local backups and keep within reach.
